We’ve talked about retiring in Mexico, but weren’t sure of the best way to sort out all of the issues. Paradise Lifestyles’ PV Discovery Week provided us with all of the info necessary to make an informed decision and we’re in love with Puerto Vallarta.

When I decided to leave the cold, gray damp of Seattle and spend the winter in Puerto Vallarta, I was daunted by the number of questions raised about how to do it. I found some information on the internet, but most of my questions regarding what to do and what to expect remained unanswered. How do I find a place to rent? What can I bring across the border? Do I need a tourist visa? If I work, do I need a different kind of visa? What car insurance do I need in Mexico? Should I keep my American health insurance or cancel it? Can I access my US accounts from Mexico? And many more questions. I was surprised that there didn’t seem to be a good way to get all of my questions answered. And once I had made the jump, I was surprised that so much of the information I had relied on was just plain wrong. It made the transition overwhelming for me. That’s why I decided to create Paradise Lifestyles and help others figure out how to move to this beautiful tropical paradise, to improve their lifestyle and live so much more affordably than they can in the States or Canada. My ‘winter in Mexico’ has turned into a love affair with the lifestyle, the people, the culture, the climate, the beautiful bay and so much more. So, now I live here year-around and don’t think I could live in a big, cold northern city again. I don’t regret a thing except that I waited so long to come down here. We hope that you enjoy your visit to Puerto Vallarta and look forward to meeting you soon.
